The floor seemed to constrict around me, the feeling immensely and socially retarded a parched sigh escaped my lips as I lay in my huddled position. My knees were seemingly bent into my concave body, pressing my lungs into my spine and thoroughly causing small spasms of pain to emit into my fractured cerebral.
The light suddenly decided to seep from the room, leaving only the whites of my eyes shining in the darkness, thin filmy pigments of sanity in this bleak setting. They stood, eyes wide, faces downcast. They stood straight, no movement at any part of their body. Like statues they watched, never moving, only their ragged breathing giving them away.
The macabre horror before them was too much. It swallowed the sound, the color, the feel from the world, leaving it a tasteless apparition. A body lay in the dust, twisted at a sickeningly grotesque angle, arms splayed, eyes filmed over. Blood poured from a wound on his chest, sticky and red, filling the air with a horrible stench.
